Reality bites - Exploding pizza

During the "exploding-pizza" scene, The body armor worn by the black-clad cops would not stop the projectiles fired from a 7.62 rifle cartridge at that very close range. Completely unrealistic and unbelievable. Those ninja cops would be bloody burnt toast.

Heckuva pizza though. at'sa spicy meatball!

I noticed that too. It seems like the fire from the terrorists completely missed. Also, those cops would, even with full body armor, be mowed to the ground from the impact of the bullets. Or they would be in cover fast.

Rifles are extremely difficult to handle when panicked like that. AKs have horrendous recoil and using rifles isn't about closing your eyes and spraying. I'm not surprised that they all missed, although it would have been more likely if a few bullets hit, however.

More important than any of that is the fact that the cops blindly detonated a flashbang, or mini-bomb, whatever, in a room that they were very certain contained tons of explosive material. Even if it was just a flashbang, those things can cause burns so why would you even risk it.

reply

Crap. Let's just chalk it up to lazy artistic license.

reply

Yeah, they should've gotten hit at least a couple of times.
Another thing is how Hub is all over the news as a FBI chief, yet nobody recognizes him at the car shop just because he's wearing a hat.

It is in no way unrealistic to use a flash bang in that situation. Its a risk but a calculated one. This was a suicide cell, the police had to assume they were ready to detonate their charges if they were raided, they needed to shock them or kill them before they could do so.

Also the the vests could have had ceramic ballistic inserts, which by the way NYPD was using years before the military. only way to tell is to go up and thump them to see if its soft or hard.

Dude, great observation but the unreality of cops walking away unharmed pales in comparison to the fact that the TV set in the back of the bad guys remains on through all the shooting. Yeah, dozens of bullets whiz through the bad guys killing every last one of them, but hey, the TV isunscathed. It is one thing to kill bad guys, but the sacred cops and TV's must remain inviolable.
