Two Questions (Spoilers)

First I have to say I love this movie. I was in high school when the teen movie wave came out (The Faculty, American Pie, Varsity Blues, Can't Hardly Wait, She's All That, etc.), so I always found all these movies so relatable. But I have two questions about this one and apologize if they've been answered already:

1) Was it ever explained in any interviews or special features why Zeke joined the football team at the end? You could see how everything else that changed was based on how the others really felt (Stan quitting the team and hooking up with Stokely, Casey and Delilah), but I didn't understand that.

2)Did they get to Casey's dad? He was obviously disappointed Casey didn't play football and seemed to be chums with the coach. While he and the coach were talking when he dropped off Casey at school, he glares at Casey kind of the same way the cop and rest did. I'm guessing they did't and that's just how he looked but curious to what others think.

I'd say it was showing that Zeke was making his life better by doing something with other people rather than snorting crap.

I realize this is a very old post but I didn't want to start another thread about the same thing. The scene with Casey's dad talking to the coach after dropping Casey off made it seem like his dad was infected because as you said, the way he seemed to glare at Casey along with the coach. But then that doesn't make a lot of sense because if he had been turned then why didn't his dad turn Casey when he was at home?
