Good post. I've been curious about that too myself.
Could be part of the unfortunate reason this film lacks any real attention given to its absolute barebones blu-ray release even though there's some behind the scenes footage and on-set interviews of the cast & crew already out there, and even more footage hidden somewhere else... (*cough* Venus *cough*)
Yet aside from the occasional twitter throwback Thursday post from life on the set, Robert Rodriguez himself doesn't seem that personally fond of the film, and I think the simple fact that this is one of the few films of his not to receive his traditional extras like a making of featurette or directors commentary track really speaks volumes about the whole situation at hand.
Maybe he was ultimately not satisfied with the finished project?
Shame if that's the case as the movie (and its fans) deserve more than that.
