1) I relate to Jim, because I have not had a dad, just like him. I would have killed for a father-figure like Silver. 2) I am 27 3) I'm straight, but I understand that most men wouldn't be attracted by animated pictures. Is it gay to like animation in your opinion?
I'm a twenty-three year old straight guy who thinks this movie kicks @$$. The visuals are a joy to behold, (more amazing, I think, than the new CGI movies because of the complexity of the hand-drawn images' interaction with the computer graphics) the narrative maximizes the strengths of Stevenson's novel in the new setting, and Disney manages to crystallize just how complicated a character Silver is.
And anyone who shys away from enjoying animated features because others say they're not "cool" has, to put it abrasively, the confidence of an impotent self-hating anorexic model and needs to grow a pair. Leave that weak-willed "OMG what if they think I'm not cool" crap in high school, and go be your own man.
Heheh, I'm usually not so vulgar, either, but wimpiness makes me exceedingly irate.
And I, like Jim, did not have a (real) father, because he was an a$$. I too would kill for a father figure like Silver. I am 20 years old, and I am straight (so far, heh). I also enjoy "cartoon", animated movies, anime, bah, whatever you want to call it, I love it. This movie is great, and especially so the interaction between Silver and Jim Hawkins, and Jims' emotional trouble. They, too, I can relate to myself.
when i first watched this movie i felt related to Jim cos my dad "took off" as well, but not when i was that young tho. I was like Jim having all those attitudes and tryna act all tough and cool... But, oh well, i've changed. I'm now 19. and yes i'm straight.
