Search IMDB for Jasper Morello.

It isn't exactly about pirates, but sort of... It has really cool-looking airships with a definite 19th century style, using some inexplicable but amazing-looking steampunk technology.

It's amazing. It has an incredible animation style, combining Indonesian shadow puppetry with a dark, Gothic atmosphere.

You'll really be glad if you spend just a few minutes looking for this. If you search youtbe for Jasper Morello, you can see the wholething in pieces online. Or, just llook for the trailer, you'll get the idea.

Just passing the idea along.

Another good space pirate-themed cartoon is the "Captain Harlock" series by Leiji Matsumoto (especially the '78 series)...Great story,terrific characters and overall a moving tale...Highly suggested :)

I'm bumping this up because I forgot about Jasper Morello. More people should check out that movie; it's kinda brilliant. Good story and odd, interesting steampunk art.
