Good thing they just turned out as three kittens and a puppy. If their parents' genes had mixed differently, they could've been... I don't know, dats, cogs, something weird. (Weirder than sapient, upright, bipedal felines and canines, I mean.)
I never thought of this until now, but I suppose Amelia's species is prone to having litters; nevertheless, she had only two breasts. That had to cramp her style. Her people probably invented the breast pump before they even discovered fire.
