Boring......

One day at school, my Physical Science teacher didn't teacher didn't have anything planed for the class. So she loaded in a movie. My very first thought was: "if a movie is shown in a classroom, it's gonna be educational, boring."

And I'll tell ya one thing: I WAS MORE THAN RIGHT!!!!!

I really wasn't paying attention (I fell asleep here and there), but I think it's about a bunch of teenagers who (by accident I think) invent small missles. Missles about the size of large "Black Cat" fireworks. For some reason (I must have dosed off more than I thought), the townspeople come all around to watch the teens launch the "missles." Why would you cut time out of your precious life just to watch some stupid launching of some accidentally invented rockets?! Can't you wait until next July 4th? This tripe was so boring, it made Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation look like a work of art. TCM: The Next Generation was a movie I didn't really like the first time I saw it. But after watching this crap, I decided to load it into my DVD TV to take my mind off the boring drama(?) movie I watched at school! To my surprise, I LOVED it.

That's how dumb this croc is!

October Sky: Most Boring Movie EVER!

Violence and gore aren't everything in a movie.

You know, I feel for you kids (especially in today's age...) but if you open your minds (AND your senses) life is so much sweeter! G'won, try it! (also, pay a little more attention and learn science...and grammar!...and people will be more likely to sit up, take notice, and LISTEN to you).

Goodness gracious! I am part of this generation and I hate it when there are certain "kids" who make the rest of us look very bad! During the 1950's there was not really much to do and rockets were new and exciting. Four teenaged boys accomplishing something like that on their own spare time is rewarding to be a part of. That movie was great and inspirational! Watching people being dedicated about something and going through great lengths to acheive their goals...that is what's great about living.

Picking TCM over October Sky is smart croc? You're going to be a future film critic.

I am fifteen and I own and love this movie. It is far from boring in my eyes. I also think it is cool that a teacher from my middle school was in this. He was the "Trooper One" or something like that... Donald Thorne. Wooh! Go Mr. Thorne!!!

How can he/she/it call it boring when it said it wasnt even watching it?

reply

i think if you would have stayed awake for the movie, you would have been able to understand more of it. They were rockets, not missiles. They built them after they saw Sputnik in the 50's and wanted to go into space to get out of their small town. They didn't accidentally invent them-and in the 1950s rockets were new, and people were fascinated by them.

I've never seen Texas Chainsaw massacre, either one, but i've heard its all blood and gore...i dont find that interesting. I will level with you-some parts of October Sky were slow, but if you had watched the entire thing they would make sense. I seriously doubt its the most boring movie ever, as you say.

When are we gonna get there? I'm hungry. This car smells weird. ~*~Riley~*~

Some movie needs full attention and good audience thinking for someone to enjoy it. So you wasn't really paying attention you find this movie boring. Who's to blame?

I watched this movie in my high school english class, and it was far from boring!!! I loved the movie and so did most of the class. You must be one of those over-stimulated people who can't sit through a movie unless there is lots of loud sounds and explosions, or your friends approve it, because, it would just be devestating if you liked a movie that your friends did not :0. Then you would not be "cool", and your life would be over! You need to watch more movies before you put this as the most boring movie ever.

This movie was cool. It was like Goonies or Stand by Me in the sense that it was a group of kids doing something out of the norm outside of their school hours. However, these kids weren't looking for one-eyed willy's gold (sexual innuendo?) or for some dead person's body, they were exploring what was then and still is modern science in an interesting and fun way. It's based on a true story which makes it that much more interesting.
