What happened to his girl friend.......
What happens to Homer's and her relationship, they never told any of that in the end credits....

shareEh, he banged her a few times before going off to college and got her knocked up. He didn't pay support, leaving her to become a single mother, of the barefoot, toothless, West Virginia hillbilly variety.
Does that answer your question?
(I'm kidding, of course. She actually became more of a single mom in the Alabama tradition.)
:-)
I asked the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
She became a tour guide at Universal Studios.
Oops, I'm thinking of "Babs" from Animal House. My bad!
Single Mom Alabama Tradition? I happen to be from Alabama and am greatly offended. There are single dads there too, you should say Single Parent.
:D
Just kidding ya. But I am from Alabama, I know what you mean...
The Bug Abides...
Actually, I was referring to her being knocked up by her drunken stepdad. But I guess that would be becoming a single mom in the Kentucky tradition.
Now I'm the one who's just kidding.

He did not marry the girlfriend in the movie. In fact, she is not clearly identified and her real name is not known to the public. In his book he says that they remained close friends and talked frequently over the years. It has been some time since I read the book but I think she helped him study mathematics.
The girl he was first interested in and was later dumped by, was a composite of a number of girls he knew in Coalwood.
