West Virginia is butifull .. none of the tress are photoshoped in .. i live were the movie *shoulduve* been filmed , i wish they filmed it here

Well I lived in Petros, Tennessee for a couple of months the summer after it came out, and that's where it was filmed (not primarily of course) but a lot of it was, and I can tell you that Petros is a BEAUTIFUL country. Plus, they didn't really have to worry about the press there as Petros is small and hardly anyone knows about it.
You really have to be in Petros to see how beautiful it is.
Coalwood.. is veryy small .. so they would nt have to worry about press.. i live there .. and the only thing to do .. well lets see is go to walmart.. lol.. its really buiteful were i live .. they should of done it were the whole thing took place.. that would of been better ..

I know they filmed it ver near Oliver Springs, Tennessee, because my aunt lives there. It is the most beautiful place I've ever been. I think it was a pretty good spot. W. VA is good too.
shareApparently a good few of you haven't been to W.V. I live an hour away from Coalwood, and I spend a good portion of my life down in McDowell County but Coalwood is the deadest town I've ever been to. Tons of houses that are falling in due to years of flooding, a run down mine, and some old company stores. I due agree, it should've been filmed in W.V., but most defintely not Coalwood. They could have atleast took the shots of the courthouse there, that town looked nothing like Welch.
sharea couple of my friends catered on the set and i knew a couple of the extras, it was taped near my town i actually saw jake at wal mart there lol i didnt even know who he was and thought the movie wouldnt make much difference, stupid me, anyways he was playing arcade games there, but the area that they taped is gorgeous countryside here in east tennessee.
shareAgreed. Some of the scenes looked like West Virginia, but others didn't. The scenes at the high school and in Welch should have definitely been shot in War and Welch.
