a great American story - need more of those

Maybe Hollywood will come to its senses and make a "sequel" out of one or both of Homer Hickam's other two Coalwood books written after "Rocket Boys". If not for the theaters, maybe for TV. But they'd have to go with a new cast. It's been too many years since "October Sky" was filmed for the original cast to come back and be believable as if little time went by, as it did in the entire Coalwood series.

Agreed. Wonderful, inspirational film about a time when America was great.

Yes, but there are plenty of people in America who aren't.

The movie does capture an innocence that we have lost. But America is still a nation of the good and the bad.

Inspirational movie but overdramatic. I hate the drama in science related movies but if drama makes it more popular hence inspires more people to love science well then it's ok I guess.
