I think if this movie had stared Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell, John Rhys-Davies, and Thomas F. Wilson with a quality script like the Wing Commander 3. I think this movie could have been pretty good. But instead we Freddie Prinze Jr. and Matthew Lillard.
shareMark & Thomas were just too old to play rookies but McDowell had a scheduling conflict & could not star in the movie.

You're basically asking for a completely different script, unless you go the route taken in the animated series... which did use Mark and Tom for voicework. I'd be down for an animated movie in the WC2 style.
shareI really see no reason they couldn't do this. The Games were mostly Movies with interactive segments. Hell and anytime you can see Mark Hammel in a movie is always a treat. Hell have it take place after Wing Commander 5.
