Stuff happening on screen because movie.
OMG, I watched this because I've been reading a ton of things about the development of Star Citizen and wanted to experience a fully realized product from the mastermind behind both projects.......
I am not impressed.
I did not know WTF was supposed to be happening from on moment to the next. It felt like I was was watching all of of the cut scenes (out takes?) from a computer game without the satisfaction having actually had any gameplay.
I think the general story was about an existential threat to humanity told in the medium of a load of terribly cliched tropes pulled from any number of classic war films and blockbuster action flicks(Das Boot, Topgun, Tora! Tora! Tora!).
The worst part was that the alien threat of the Kilrathi, who had been the faceless adversary for the the majority of the film suddenly make a belated entrance with a few half hearted, subtitled cut scenes that offer no insight to their motivation or casus belli, plus they looked *beep*
On the basis of this film I'm so glad I've not put any money into Star Citizen. I would recommend this as required viewing for anyone thinking about pledging money to this project or buying even more imaginary spaceships for a game that's looking less likely to ever be released by the day.
Total *beep* mess.
