Only thing that bugs me

I loved this show when I was a kid. I started watching them again lately and the voices are so inconsistent episode from episode. Shredder, Krang, Raph, and Don seem to have different voices in every other episode.

The monster you created has returned... to kill you!

It's very drafty where they live. It's not unusual for a person, Turtle, or evil brain from Dimension X to catch a cold and sound a little funny from time to time.

One thing I've noticed was how the pitch in Leonardo's voice changed in the first two seasons before becoming high permanently in the third season, I guess Cam Clarke was experimenting with the tone and picked out the one he liked which was the higher one.

reply

Cam Clarke, who voiced Leo, apparently toned his voice to be higher in the later seasons because he wanted to sound more youthful, like a teen would.

Season 3 was recorded on a very tight schedule, so if one of the actors couldn't show up for a certain session, they had to be replaced at the very last second for that particular episode.

reply

Well, I suppose you could write some of the inconsistencies off as the Turtles going through puberty.

Shredder, Krang, Raph, and Don seem to have different voices in every other episode.

That's because they sometimes had different actors doing the voices when the other ones weren't avalible. Shredder had quiet a few different actors, I think about 3 or 4. I believe Townsend Colman who voiced Michealanglo substituded for Shredder and Krang a few times too.

I an't afraid of no ghosts!

reply

Yeah, TC voiced Shredder from "Night of the Rogues" until "Shredder Triumphant" and also voiced Krang in "Cowabunga Shredhead" and "Green With Jealousy".
