Alright so I'm confused...

Are they really still dubbing the Japanese version? I was a huge fan of this show a couple years ago when it aired on Adult Swim and have forgot about it up until a few days ago. So I checked to see which seasons were out on DvD and saw that there were four english. (Is that correct?) Which sounded about right to me, since all Animes I watch don't usually last more then five seasons, then I did a little more searching and found a season five on Funimations offical website. Is that real or is that just old advertising that was never got around to?

Also on a side note, when I first came on here and saw this has 25 seasons out in Japan you could imagine my shock. Makes me wonder what's happened between the Episodes I've seen and upcoming Episodes. Are there any plans of all seasons being dubbed or have productions on the english series ended? I have no problem reading subtitles in a Japanese show, actually most of the time the story is so much more evolved then the English dub lets on, but I love watching English productions first. So if there's any plans on the continueing of the English dub I would love to know!

Thanks for clearing any of this up for me! I'm a little addicted to this show, so I'm trying to get as much of it as I can. :P

Season 5 contains episodes 106-130(which are in fact episodes 100-123) to Funimation any episode that's an hour long is consider a 2 part episode.

As for wether the production of the English dub is still in progress, that I don't know. There's been a recent European release of a Case closed Wii game that was made in 2007. http://www.detectiveconan-thegame.com/en/ It's been said that this game will be released in the USA later this year.

When Season 5 comes out we might hear about wether Season 6 will be released or not. Since in my opinion Season 6 is when the series gets really good, cause they start to introduce more characters. I think Funimation still has care for this series if they already dub the video game.

So hope that clears up, Season 5 is coming in May 12.

Funimation are not dubbing the series anymore. One person from the company said because a lot of American networks had a problem with the disturbing content, saying it wasn't fit for kids (Since Funimation tried to release it at some point as a kids show). Adult Swim picked it up, but because of its low ratings, it got cancelled. I think they stopped dubbing because no one else would pick up the show.
