shareI agree with Gobiastia. Im a massive Royle Family fan but apart from The Queen of Sheba, the one off's have all been dreadful. Best left alone IMO.

I'm hoping it's because the script wasn't up to much, and they had the good sense to give it the axe.
The Golden Egg Cup was on last night and I had forgotten just how bad it was.
Good news. Hopefully they won't make any more. I think it's reached the point where there is very little chance of it ever returning to what it used to be and I'd expect that any future specials will be in the style of the last three. The last three were nothing like 'The Royle Family' in it's prime and it's a pity they didn't end it with The Queen of Sheba.
I wonder if the people who enjoyed the last three specials also enjoy the early episodes. There's very little similarity between them and the early episodes other than the character's names being the same.
