Am I the only one who gets depressed watching him? I mean, I don't have to watch this show, but I want to like it, I like Aherne. But "Dave" makes me suicidal with his absolute stupidity and annoying lack of a brain.
It reminds me of some awful 50's variety or something. Overacting and hamming it up.

He never used to be like that. He was never the brightest bulb in the box, but the latest specials have just made him in to a character with very severe learning difficulties.

Exactly.. It's almost too much social drama or summat. I know dimness is funny, but it's a fine line. It's depressing seeing people who are so stupid it seems to radiate from his body, like it's contagious... I get enough at that at home, knowwhatImean?
