why not made in color or colorized later?
it's such a shame it's b&w all the magic seems to have been wasted!

It did air in color in 1957, but it only was recorded in black and white. It would be nice to have it recolored.
shareI think it's perfect in black and white. I have a feeling if it got colorized, it would turn out like It's A Wonderful Life and not look as good.
sharePlus, the surviving film elements--while OK for black & white--are too fuzzy for faux colorization to make sense. If you want to get a sense of what it looked like in color, just do a Google image search for the show; it should turn up at least a few great publicity and behind-the-scenes pictures that look amazing!
