'We go all the way back' (Spoilers)

Did anyone else catch Jeremy Davies say this quote in a creepy voice during the events at the cave? (It wasn't what he said, it was the way he said it.) For all of about two minutes it made me suspect him of being deranged or somehow in cahoots with the cannibals.

I wonder whether it was just my overactive imagination, or possibly thrown in by Antonia Bird as a red herring.

Great movie, both as a piece of storytelling and as an analogy of Europeans devouring the Native Americans during Manifest Destiny.

I always thought he said it in an exhausted tone, as if he was thinking about how awful the three-day walk back would be, especially with his injury. Never saw it as creepy.
