...after reading the truths (& falsehoods) about the film & how the real Patch feels about it. I loved it when it was released, but at the time I was totally oblivious to the truths.
I get that Hollywood needs a romance & a nice wrap-up, but man, they really took a *lot* of liberties. I do still like it, but not as much as back then & I'm not sure I'd still recommend it anymore. I'd tell them to read about it 1st.

he definitely softened his stance. why wouldn't he? it'd take a hard hearted person to say something bad publicly right now.
however, with regard to the story told in the movie "Patch Adams", the real life Dr. did not much care for the liberties that were taken. Certain relationships in the movie were just plot devices and NOT based in reality.
they were pretty loose with the story for sure.

Just do a Google search. He was *definitely* unhappy about the finished film. At least initially.
