question about Alexis' dream sequence

I was wondering what Alexis' dream meant (that which ended with David swinging the ax at her). So, the young man takes off his robe to reveal a sweater with a big Y on it, and then Alexis stares at it and says something along the line of "I thought I would never see you again", to which he replies "I never left.". Any ideas?

The Y represented Yale, which is the college that Alexis went to, where she was with her old boyfriend

His eyes were blue, and remember, when they're eating breakfast, Alexis tells him that her ex had blue eyes

I think Young Man reminded Alexis of her boyfriend before David
