I wonder...(spoiler I guess)

I've only seen this movie twice (mainly because it's not one of my favorites but it does tend to "stay with you") and I was in the shower trying to remember Alexis' dream near the beginning, but I couldn't remember a lot of it, but isn't it in her dream where she asks the young man "who are you?" and he says "you know who I am"?

my point/question being, could it have been her unconscious? you know how dreams are supposed to be a gateway to the unconscious and all that right? what if Alexis unconsciously knew that either David was gay, or that David was going to leave her/interested in someone else, and her dream was trying to tell her that she already knew who this young man was - whether in her dream he symbolized himself or just the unknown face of whoever David was really in love with, she wouldn't know.

Did that make any sense? what do you think?
