How did the show the secret slime action to the audionce but not the palnist?

I think that there were little TVs above the audience for them to view, whenever stuff like that happened. On all TV shows, like Conan and Regis & Kelly, they all have little TVs over the Audience, at eye level for you to watch those skits that they put up, and thats why you might see conan look off to the side at somthing, wich is a little moniter TV thing lol. I have seen them almost every time i go to somthing like that.
