Song in the IMDb trailer... 'Crimson and Clover' by what artist?

Please someone I really need your help in identifying the song that is being played in the 30 second trailer here on IMDb. I know the song is Crimson and Clover but I'm desperate to know who sings it. I love the contemporary rock riff & the mellowed voice of the singer. I have search high & low looking for this exact song but it doesn't seem to exist. I even checked the official soundtrack for Can't Hardly Wait but to no avail.

I'd be eternally grateful if some could help me in finding this song!

well Tommy James and the Shondells sung the original, a few other artist did covers, use youtube to search videos to see if any sound like the one you are looking for.

The closest song I have found is the cover by The Snake Corps. Does it sound similar to the one in the trailer?
