Watching this again as an adult

This was my favorite movie when I was 19. I have now re-watched it as a 31-year-old. Mike, William, Kenny, and Denise are still funny and interesting characters. Even Jenna Elfman and Turk Turkleton were great in their small parts.

But Preston and Amanda are so dull. I get the whole "teen love" thing, but their storyline is the least compelling one here.

You were 19. I was 14, freshman year. This movie gave an idea of how it would be. We may not all of had an Amanda Beckett, but I did. This was one of the last feel good teen movies besides American Pie. Great soundtrack too.

Soundtrack sure was great.

I can relate to this movie as I had an Amanda Beckett but I achieved the exact opposite outcome than Preston did.

Damn.

Agreed with Preston and Amanda, I liked everyone else's storylines but found theirs to be kinda blah.

Agreed. The two leads were the most boring part of the movie. Not a particularly great movie to begin with; it's only appeal is that you can pick any 90s young-hollywood star's name out of a hat and guarantee they were in this movie; not to mention lots of people who became famous in the 2000s. LOL. Like I said, not a great movie but this and "American Pie" were kind of a nice wrap-up for the 90s before torture-porn and hipsters became fashionable.
