If this movie was made today...

The nerds would occasionally throw in some Star Wars references but the talk would be about World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter...

Kenny would listen to Eminem and Jay-Z like all the others and nobody would call him a "wigger"

There would be no written letter, Preston would sent Mandy a letter on Facebook hoping that she reads it but seeing that she doesn't react, would go away from the party. Then he'd meet Angel who'd ask for his cellphone as hers died. and they'd have the talk, Amanda would go on facebook from her iPhone and read the letter.... looking at Preston's picture not being to remember who is that guy.

Will would never earn millions in computers, probably would be unemployed cause of recession like most youngsters or land a decent but nothing spectacular job at Google, Facebook at best...

Denise and Will would never get stuck in the bathroom, at least one of them would have a working cellphone and would call a friend to get them out= they wouldn't end up together

The exchange student would have much better English and would probably have no problem adjusting to American lifestyle

Instead of 70s nostalgia in the background (like "Don't Leave Me This Way", we'd have 80s... Seriously, who cared about 70s in 2000s?

Most people would be wearing hoodies, not only the guy who was stealing all the stuff and black guys (though, that's probably more like first part of 00s, Eminem look)

.... Any other things?

I feeel as if this movie was made today it would have had a lot more crude humor. I don't know what's going on these days - but it seems like they're equating movies with the more disgusting the joke the higher the ratings. This one had just enough color without being overdone.

would have starred jonah hill and michael cera.

it would have sucked.

reply

Yup, and Seth Rogen or Zach Galifinakis would have had a part some how...

Amandas part would have been played by Kirsten Stewart.

"Amandas part would have been played by Kirsten Stewart."

Which would suck... seeing as Jennifer Love H is far superior in both looks and talent, imo.

reply

Kirsten Stewart is the poor man's Jennifer Love Hewitt.

reply

Agreed...

reply

Haha I'm watching this right now and thought the same things. If cell phones had been around, half the subplots/mishaps wouldn't have existed.

reply

I could agree with most of what you said, but you know with movies and shows these days even though there are cell phones available they would have invented SOME STUPID reason to make sure the cell phone was unusable. example: Denise and Will in the bathroom and the cell phone fell in the toilet or something, so they "had no choice but to be stuck in the bathroom together."

reply

Denise didn't stuck in the bathroom with Will....She got stuck in the bathroom with Kenny.

Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?

reply

The nerds would be talking about The Avengers, Superman, Spiderman, Batman, and all the other reboot fodder. In that case I guess Star Wars/Trek are still viable.

Kenny would be goth...dress in all black, dye his hair, piercings, judgmental.

Preston would text Amanda his message of undieing love but she wouldn't recognize the phone number.

Will would get a job wiretapping for the NSA or start a company in cybersecurity.

Denise could still get caught in the bathroom b/c her phone gets shut off for failure to pay her bill.

The exchange student would be erudite and speak English better than the average high school American.

There wouldn't be a live band at the party, just an iPod and a docking station.

The parents of the girl throwing the party would be there, trying to fit in and recapture their youth.

It would star Jonah Hill and Michael Cera.

It would be in 3D.

Have u ever transcended space & time? Yes. No. Uh time, not space. No, I dont knw wht ur talkng abt

reply

And no one would have called Mike a fag cause the PC police would have not allowed it.

reply

The whole movie would have been drowned out by obnoxious techno music. And the segways would all be text and Facebook related.
