I remember watching this movie a year ago and I got the feeling Mike was gay. I watch it again tonight (missing out the beginning) and I didn't get this impression.

No, I have never gotten that impression. Someone at the party calls Mike a "fag" as an insult, but it has nothing to do with his actual sexuality; it was just an immature high schooler making fun of him for being a loser after dumping Amanda.
shareEpilogue also said Mike was fired after some incriminating photos surfaced. This is referencing the earlier scene where the 2 outside nerds chloroformed Mike, posed him embracing another dude & took polaroids.
OTOH, gay photos alone wouldn't get him fired from a car wash. Was it implied something else happened? I could have seen Mike being kicked out of a frat for those photos, but not being fired from a job. Either way it seems like sloppy writing.
There are plenty of places that fire people for being gay. Totally legal in some states.
