Where did they film most of the movie, I'm from Pawtucket, and i don't recognize any of the exteriors from this town.

it was filmed mainly in Rhode Island adn some was filmed in Massachusetts.

The school was URI, I know that. I'm from RI, and had no problem believing it was Pawtucket, but I know Providence/Cranston and W.G. much better. Corrente usually films around the state, though. Buffalo Nickel and Federal Hill were both filmed in RI.

I attended URI while is was being shot it was almost shot entirely there and if you know the campus you'll see all the buildings through out the movie

the exteriors of the pawtucket house looks like the elmwood section of cranston

Most of it was filmed at URI. I should know this because I had to dodge the film crews during my Freshman year at URI (1997). The movie didn't come out until 1999 because they ran into editing problems, plus they had to find a new production company (Miramax) to fund them.

The bar scenes were shot at my friend's father bar located on Broad street on the Pawtucket/Central Falls border. The film American Buffalo was shot just two blocks away in another building heading towards downtown Pawtucket.
