when they are talking about the planing of the carnigie hall show, he says the way hed pay for it would be tony clifton, even if he has to work another 10 years..direct quote

Agreed. Andy already knew that nobody believed he was sick; he therefore had to know that he could get someone else - Bob, or another friend - to carry on the Clifton act for years, and thus recoup the money from people who would pay to see if it was him under that makeup after all.

Quite clever, really.
