No Oscar nomination for Jim Carrey?

So he won the Golden Globe (Drama) for The Truman Show the year before, no Oscar nomination. Then for Man on the Moon he wins the Comedy Golden Globe and MTV Movie award, plus critic awards- no Oscar nomination. What gives? 1999 was a strong year for male roles, but did Carrey deserve a spot or not?

I wonder why he didn't get any Oscar nomination.he did a great job in this movie.so unfair!!!
