The wrestling with Jerry Lawler portions were dead on (SPOILERS!)
I was all of fourteen years old when Andy Kaufman made national headlines by getting "injured" in what some people believed was a real fight between he and Memphis Wrestling Superstar Jerry Lawler. It was picked up by Entertainment Tonight and many other news outlets, all of whom had no idea they were helping Kaufman's and Lawler's illusion that this was for real. As Kaufman continued to play out the storyline, it carried all the way to the still relatively new "David Letterman Show". All of this is represented uncannily realistic in "Man On The Moon"; it should, since wrestler Jerry Lawler plays himself in the movie. It's just eerie and somewhat ironic to see things get recreated that you yourself saw happen live so many years prior.
If you're a wrestling fan, but dont know the whole story about Kaufmann and Lawler, you'll find this film to be very informative, and definitely entertaining.
