i never knew andy kaufman before i saw man on the moon and oh boy! the movie just bowled me over....and jim carrey was for me...just perfect for the role and delivered a stunning performance...something that lingers with you long after you see the movie which actually brings me to this thought...is this jim's best ever performance...

i mean yes he was brilliant in truman show and eternal sunshine of spotless mind but his performance in man on the moon was for me a notch above...wat say

Agreed, but I'd have to put Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on top though. Great performance in both, just favored that.

I agree that Andy Kaufman is Carrey at his best. However, I would put The Grinch as my second favorite Jim Carrey performance.

All responses to this question actually point out what a terrific actor Jim Carrey is. I felt a bit shut out in this performance. I wanted more, but maybe there isn't any "more" to Andy Kaufman. I think it is too difficult to pick a favorite. Jim Carrey is an outstanding actor.
