The movie leaves you with the possibility that Andy Kaufman may still be alive. One of the best endings to a movie, in my opinion.

"No one gives it to you. You have to take it."

yeah...the movie left you guessing... "what if???"

There's no way to describe what I do. It's just me.

reply

yeah, but Andy died in real so i dont get what would be the purpose of this scene. first i thought its Bob, but when they show him this all ending got senseless to me..

reply

Well, I only saw the last 15 min. of the movie on TV and I know very, very little about Andy Kaufman...

But even so, I saw the ending more metaphorical - not so much literal.......because I agree, if you take it literally, it's a tad nonsensical.

The "metaphor" being about Kaufman's ultimate unpredictability and his spirit and influence continuing to live.

Faking his death is something that wouldn't surprise me coming from Kaufman.

Andy's brother Michael also sometimes portrayed Tony Clifton.

I heard Robin Williams was Tony Clifton after Andy Kaufman passed away. Williams was close friends with Kaufman and Bob Zmuda.
