Andy Kaufman was funnier

I am a huge fan of Jim Carrey, and he was great in this movie. But I don't think the true humor of Kaufman comes through in this. Kaufman's spacey, quirky demeanor and the subtlety he had are brilliant! Watching old clips of him on youtube gave me a true appreciation for his absurd style. Also, Kaufman's real-life version of Tony Clifton was so much funnier than Carrey's version.

In my opinion Kaufman's style came before its time. An act like him would be so much better received now as a lot of the general population becomes more jaded to what's popular and longs to find something new and original.

Just wondering if anyone else agrees :)

The movie is excellent, but I agree, he was funnier in real life ;). The movie did make him seem more strange in my opinion, when the real Andy seemed endearing.

nothing is funny about this film, this movie does no justice to the real Andy Kaufman who was funny
