How Andy may have gotten Lung Cancer

I was thinking that maybe Andy got it from smoking Cigars as Tony Clifton or from second hand smoke.

Interesting point. I always wondered this too.

Or as Michael Douglas might suggest, cunnilingus.

Or sometimes you just get dealt a bad hand

Smoke isn't the only thing that causes lung cancer... sometimes it's just genetic, environmental, or random bad luck. I doubt the occasional cigar or secondhand smoke exposure caused it, particularly in a man so young. But I'm just speculating, of course.

I used to date a comedian who ran in the same circles as Kaufman in the early stand-up days (my friend ended up dying way before his time as well, but that's a WHOLE other story.) Anyhow, he told me that he knew of 2 people, both drummers in bands that played the small comedy clubs in the late 60's, 70's, etc. who didn't smoke, but ended up with lung cancer.

Anyhone could smoke indoors back then, and man did those little rooms get stinky! I remember a cloud hanging over the audience because the cigarette smoke got so thick.

Or maybe he faked his death. There is a new book by his longtime friend, Bob Schmuda and Kaufman's GF, Lynne Marguiles. I highly doubt Kaufman is alive, but I love reading conspiracy theories about death. Same thing with Elvis, Jim Morrison, Tupak, and of course, Michael Jackson. Strange that I haven't seen any "Whitney Houston is alive!" stuff. In fact, I can't EVER remember a FEMALE star of any kind whose death was deemed suspicious.

Sorry for straying off topic...

Many a theory has been spun about female star's deaths which challenged the "official" versions. Three off the top of my head - Marilyn Monroe, Thelma Todd, Jean Harlow.
