I like The Others very much. I wouldn't say that was an overly rich latino film in spirit, the melancholy and desperation were of a northern kind. I don't like Cruz, though, would I enjoy this one?

Depends. This film retains the basic story of OYO but is very "Crowe-inized". The soundtrack is wonderful and I think Cruise is great, but it's not a film for everyone. I say give it a shot and see what you think.

Well, I meant OYO and Penelope Cruz. I haven't seen it yet and not sure if I'll like it. VS is an average Hollywood drama, nothing to write home about. It's on a par with Family Man.
