Did you guys know this is a real concept scientists are planning to do? And not only this. A bunch of sick things are happening. And LIFE EXTENSION is actually a thing! Look it up on the internet.

reply

you are retarded life extension is wishful thinking... all frozen brains up until this point have gotten freezer burn...

virtual reality is real too, but it is a bunch of internet nerds wacking off to buffy reruns collectively.

science is a business and they sell you the latest "we hope to do this scheme"...

There may, however, eventually come a time when we can keep brain tissue alive indefinitely -- by finding the genes/cells which cause aging/death, etc.

Or, we may be able to decode how memories are stored and processed, convert that to a digital format, and then transfer those memories to a different brain. Your identity is pretty much completely wrapped up in your experiences and memories, so if you could keep swapping that flash drive around, you could pretty much live indefinitely, in new bodies.

Clearly, this stuff isn't feasible yet, but it may be in the future. Today's technology would blow the mind of our grandparents when they were kids.

From what I've read online, the entire body is treated with a protectant that prevents cell damage from water freezing. But apparently, not the whole body is guaranteed to have absorbed this protectant, meaning that there will be extensive tissue damage. These people's explanation to this issue is that in the future, we'll have the technology to repair this damaged tissue or grow new tissue.

To be honest, I don't know what people are thinking when they sign up for something like this. What will happen if they do find a way to revert aging, and you wake up in 1000 years with no familiar people? You'll be too busy repairing your damaged tissue. These people will simply be lab rats from the past. I would rather die an honest death and rest peacefully until God chooses otherwise. We're better off wishing for reincarnation.

Science is not a business--it's the pursuit of knowledge through constant questioning of premises and evidence.

Technology can be a business. Most Americans have been brought up to believe that money is the life-affirming thing and pursuit of wealth alone is justified (see "fiduciary responsibility"). So people will try to make money off everything, including vain hope of science-illiterate people.
