This guy screws things up repeatedly, yet he's trusted over and over. Doesn't gave phone message, alerts media Anna in their home.

I can understand your point, but for me it is just the opposite. I enjoyed his character just as written, and of course he is the one in the end who said of Grant's choice, "You daft prick", making him realize he really had to go after Anna Scott.

I understand yours as well. He and the sister were both lovable, they even ended up together. :)

Plus, if you have seen Ifans in other roles you will know what a great acting job he did to create the character of Spike.

When he 1st appeared in Elementary I didn't even realize who he was till the episode was almost over. Very different role, that's the only other role I've seen him in.

I was imagining what the living space of Spike and the sister would be if they got married and thought it would be like that ironing board in Hugh Grant's kitchen x 10. Don't want to go there.

You just replied to a post from 2014.

reply

I don't mind. I do it for me.

And don't forget ugly as hell.

reply

he's very funny. that makes up for the annoyingness.

reply

And even lovable. He's grown on me over the years.

Spike was repulsive and stupid. I can't imagine why William kept him as a house mate. He was similar to Kramer on "Seinfeld", except filthy and dumb.
