Why does Eve hate Sophie?

Eve is a bitch, why not Sophie if she doesn't want Adam for herself? According to Eve all girls are sluts, so what difference could it make?

Because Sophie is prettier, more sophisticated, presumably richer (maybe with sugar daddies) and has guys falling all over her. It's just jealousy. And she actually does like Adam, but she was playing hard to get.

Eve *does* want Adam for herself, she's just in denial about it.

Sophie seemed nice enough, I think it's safe to say she and Adam wouldn't have had much in common. Like they say in the scene, he'd be better off with a sweet girl. And it turns out Eve is a sweet girl, when she's not being such a grouch.
