I finally came here to talk about this movie. I saw it when it came out and loved it. I was totally convinced that it would make a ton of money. I guess my tastes are not mainstream.
(Anybody else here fans of the little known movies The Ref and Still Crazy?)
It was one of the lowest grossing movies that year. I was very saddened by that.
When Archbishop Melker's followers came up from the bottom of the frame I laughed loud and hard, it was such a great big screen moment, one that can't be duplicated on the small screen. However I was the only one and even got an odd look from another patron.

I have not seen Still Crazy.. but LOVE The Ref.. made me a Denis Leary fan for LIFE.. and Kevin Spacey for that matter too. But.. it always at LEAST gets one play a year. It's in my top 5 Christmas movies EVER.. Right up there next to Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Ernest Saves Christmas.
What can I say.. I am a sucker for the classics.. (haha).
Are Lethal Weapon and Die Hard actually Christmas movies? Haven't seen 'em.

Totally agree about Spacey and Leary. I also love Judy Davis and everybody else did a great job in The Ref too.

I love The Ref too and have not seen Still Crazy.I also love Blast From The Past and got the Blast From The Past dvd for my birthday,last November 17th.:-)My mom and I watched it today.She likes it a lot.
