I couldnt take it

Oh god, it's not Linda Cardellini is it?

Christ, the more I hear about this movie, the more I lose my faith in her.

Yeah, it's beyond weird to see Lindsey from Freaks and Geeks like that.

Pretty play piercings, though.

It's crazy, I've seen a lot of horror movies and laughed. To this day I'm amused watching "Nightmare on Elm Street" because Freddy makes me laugh, but this movie creeped me out. I kept hearing Snider's quote about slow piercing in my head afterwards.

I liked it.

reply

Wow , men afraid of horror films. Nightmare on Elm Street is a "scary film".
I bet you guys are big fans of I still know what you did last summer.

A friend of mine from college had my friend dorthey and i watch it. I thought i was really graphic at first. But after i watched the whole movie i thought it was pretty good. I eventually had my boyfriend and my dad (huge mistake) watch it a few years later. They thought it was *beep* up. Now everytime i say something about the internet my dad is on my case about it. It made me afraid to even talk to people online for a while. Now i'll talk to people but won't meet them online unless i know them personally!!!

reply

Yeah, the internet is full of wack jobs but seriously, have you ever heard of "Looking for Mr. Goodbar"? MAJOR wack job in that one and she met him in a bar. I gotta tell you, I've been conned by very few in this life but the ones I was conned by weren't ones I met on the internet. There are nut cases everywhere, not just online.

Oh yeah, I met my husband online.

Oh man I loved this movie.

I'm a huge fan of body modifications. So naturally I would like it. But it's pretty tame... I've seen worse when it comes to stuff like this, weird ass foreign movies lol.

I learned a long time ago to not watch horror films with my parents, at least ones like this. My mom understands, but my dad is even freaked out by some episodes of Law & Order SVU. You just invited your dad to get into "I'm protecting my family at all costs mode!" It's like you should've known that would happen. I'm not blaming you, I just think it's kind of funny cause good dads are supposed to be like that, even thought it's annoying at times.

I loved it but then again I love piercings, tattoos, and I am an amateur masochist.

Damn Dee Snyder. This movie is pathetic. I caught the second half on IFC last night. Some of the worst story and dialogue writing I've ever experienced. And why does Dee Snyder become a librarian when he makes his transformation into a normal person, and then relapse completely in like 20 minutes? Every scene of this movie is stupid and useless. I need to torture Dee Snyder.

reply

He doesn't turn into a librarian, he's in a mental institution, and just looking for books to read. And who's knows how long he was tied up.

reply

Are you really that dense? No, he's not a librarian and the lapse might happen 10-15 minutes later in the movie, but you have to be more intelligent than that unless you got your mommy to type this for you.

If you had some strange psychosis that can be medicated and treated for three years and then your medication is taken from you then a violent traumatic experience is enough to cause that break in your reality again. The transition made perfect sense. Injustice: if you remember he saw the detective watching and that detective did nothing to help him, which is why his daughter, Genevieve, was targeted again. The beating and the hanging. If you had seen the first half of the movie you would have seen that Carlton (Capt. Howdy) was a spiritual person, shamanistic if you will. The near death experience would be enough to awaken that darker part of him. Of course he would want revenge.

I hear there is supposed to be a sequel. Capt. Howdy is dead though... who could do what he did? Genevieve? Or a Copy cat?

In the future, do yourself a favor. Watch the entire movie and think before you say something ignorant on a message board. Especially before you decide you want to hurt someone over such a film.

Firstly, its Dee Snider. Secondly this movie is not stupid and useless, it has a point. It is cautionary to kids who may want to meet guys online. I really enjoyed this movie and found the script to be pretty good too. im a huge fan of Snider though, especially his speaking voice. The soundtrack is also amazing. This movie was almost banned in the USA, because of its true to life situations. who knows there could be a real life Captain Howdy out there on the net. Be careful kids he may choose you next...

reply

I usually dig horror...but I was actually cowering...maybe it was the fact that I used to meet guys from online, sometimes immediately...or maybe it was the catheter.....eh....or the creepy...uh... everything....anyway, to all the fans of Capt Howdy...he is now in a horror comic aptly named 'Strangeland'...

reply

Well, the premise is definitely more terrifying than your usual slasher flick.

I mean, in the classics like Friday the 13th, you had kids getting killed while getting laid. A quick, sudden death during sex? Scary, sure... but they didn't know what hit them. One minute they're getting their jollies, the next they're dead. Getting tied up in a cellar and tortured indefinitely - now THAT'S something to be scared of.

reply

I don't know, it didn't bother me that much.. I really didn't find it to be THAT gory. Sure, I flinched at a few parts, but not enough to make me disgusted or sick to the point of turning it off.

reply

I really thought this movie was pretty tame. I think you could cut about 5 mins of this movie and it would be PG-13. There was very little blood for all the piercing and no gore. I think Dee Snider should watch some Dario Argento movies.

I agree with funderbunk in everyway..I know i wouldnt wanted be tortured by 8 gage genital piercings.Hell no.And i bet Genivieve was awake when he put that catheter in her.Ow....Catheters Suck Ass with drugs there's no telling what it feels like without any. However the could have made it seem more real. The liquid looked like Pee yea but in real life when you have a catheter in there's always blood in it.That would have made it more real for me and more creepy.
