If You Miss Your Medication For One Night, You Can Snap Into Insanity?

Does this relate at all to real life?

When Hendericks missed his medication on the evening of his lynching he then went back into his old self.

Does this happen for real? Should you miss your medication one evening you can go insane again?

reply

Probably not by itself but I think missing your medication and surviving a lynch mob would probably help push you a little further over the edge.

YeS!

And I was thinking the same thing when Snider was being taken away in the car and his meds were crushed...UH-OH!

While not the same situation (luckily for me...), my hubby's meds (he's a disabled veteran) didn't come on schedule and for like a week he went completely NUTZ-O!!! None of us really correlated the missed meds with the behavior, but he finally got his meds, and when he went to his doctor and told him that his meds had been late, the doc. said, "oh, if that ever happens again, call the VA ASAP so the meds can be filled locally...if you miss that med. even for one day you can have a psychotic break." AAAAHHH! NO *beep*

So yeah...that could happen!!!

Oh yes, I can assure you...missing medication can cause someone with severe mental problems to snap. Add a good, old-fashioned beat down and hanging, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

BTW, I take my medication two times per day to ensure I don't hit a "low" in my dose of meds. *twitch twitch*

Oh, and I've got to say...Dee had the "thorazine shuffle" down pat in the scenes before he snapped.

I can't speak for the effects of missing medication for a day, but the "rush" Howdy experienced after coming so close to death during the hanging probably reignited that part in the brain he so longed for.

An additional factor could also be that getting beat and strangled reminded him how much he loved the feel of pain - inflicting it on himself and others.
