Old ladies fighting over cats

OMG this episode was hard to take! For one thing, all the yelling, arguing, and talking over each other was SO.HARD to listen to! But even without that, at least 2, if not all 3, of the women were wearing REALLY bad wigs! It was so distracting!

I honestly had to pause it a number of times to even make it through the whole thing. Gah. I hate listening to people yelling over each other. If I wanted that, I would tune in to Jerry Springer.

...or maybe not.

I thought it was funny when the defendant called the judge, "Sweetie."

For some reason, TPC is the only TV court show I've watched for years-- as a "guilty pleasure", though.

On the rare occasions when other people are around when it's on, I annoy them by pointing out all the stuff that annoys me-- they always end up asking me why the hell I watch it if it bugs me so much. Good question.

Anyway, I usually tape it on my trusty old VCR just so I can fast-forward through the ads, Judge Milian's predictable lectures and tired jokes, and unbearably obnoxious/crazy litigants.

I agree that the litigants in this case were painfully pathetic. FWIW, though, to me the plaintiff had a shaky case, but I think Milian was too hard on her; she used the defendant's alleged e-mail "notice" to the claimant to sink the plaintiff, but in similar situations Milian could and would challenge it-- for one thing, it wasn't very clear or definite about the "deadline".

Also, Milian chose to overlook that the defendant relied too much on hearsay and allegations by third parties (the plaintiff's dismal "witness") about the plaintiff's status and plans.

And Milian didn't even react to the defendant's admission that she deliberately didn't tell the plaintiff where she'd taken the cats because the defendant thought the claimant might make a scene, thus depriving the plaintiff of a last chance to recover the cats.

The defendant bit off more than she could chew-- I sure wouldn't take in five+ cats-- but that was her mistake/problem, especially because when she took the cats it was clear that the plaintiff was very unsettled and might not be in a position to take them back for who knows how long.

When the defendant eventually realized she was in over her head, she decided to dump the cats first and ask questions later.

I think that by the time Milian ruled she was sick of both litigants and just wanted to get rid of them.
