What part made u wanna cry?

I was saddened by the aprt when Giovanni's dad calls him in the movie and just talks to him briefly before hanging up on his son, who obviously wanted moe attention and wanted to talk to his dad. He was brushed asisde as so many people are who have traits that make them different from what is considered normal.

You have eternity. I have only now.

Excellent choice. The key part of that scene is the obvious. The dad thought it was his mothers turn to take care of him. But the wedding at the church when they do thier own vows at the spur of the moment and tell the pastor they would still pay him if he didn't want to say his vows to them. Couple with when during her vows she messes up and says tke him for her wife rather than husband and the pastor and Daniel help her to continue. With these kids it's all about just being involved. I've volunteered at the Special Olympics with my sister and they just want the opportunity to compete, and participate. Great movie!!!

God Bless,

When Carla messes her vows up...that look on her face is SO sad! I cry everytime I see it...plus, when Daniel is SO proud of "his gift for his wife" as the band comes down the road. He is SO proud and it's such a sweet part of the movie.

Why did you do that, Daniel?!

That part ^.

I always getting teary when Carla is walking in the rain on the tennis court... I'm not sure why it makes me sad, but that is one of my favorite parts too. Also, when she is telling her mother that "I know how to do something, and I can love, Danny loves me very much, and I love him" and that they can take care of each other. This is one of my favorite moives.

When they're at the country club and Danny gets drunk and tells everyone his and Carla's "love secrets," and everyone starts laughing and then Carla starts screaming "Stop laughing at me!!" Awww...it broke my heart. THAT scene made me cry. Juliette Lewis is a great actress.

The parade, Daniel's gift for his bride. That was incredible.

"Har Du Ikke Ren Underbukse På Deg?" - Elling, from the movie by the same name

reply

You're so ignorant. They aren't "retards". "Slow" would be a nicer word for it.

reply

Ah! Of course! 'Slow' isn't discriminating at all... No...

How about handicapped?

"Har Du Ikke Ren Underbukse På Deg?" - Elling, from the movie by the same name

reply

Well, they aren't exactly handicapped, were they? "mentally challenged"?

The bit where she scream "stop laughing at me" thats soo sad.
And when Danny gets off the phone to his Dad. everything goes quiet and slow, just really hits you. And when carla has the flash back of those kids following her up the stairs and laughing

reply

Toward the end when Elisabeth is sitting there kinda nonchalantly flipping through the magazine/art book while Radley's getting ready for Carla and Daniel's wedding ... he tells her, "You know, when you get to the point when you're not talking to your kids, you're missing out on the best part of the journey," my tears start. When Carla is horrified at flubbing her vows, I'm weeping. But after the wedding, when she sees her mother there and she's so kind and accepting to Daniel (and Michelle's "friend"), and then the band comes through and she says Olive Juice, I'm puddling all over the floor! I've only seen this movie SIX times (so far) but I know I'm gonna be crying at the end every time.

@ Keiser, Congratulations! You took the time to come to this thread just to show your ignorance. You earn a gold star.

reply

Thanks a lot KeiserHenning, for using the word RETARD. Thanx.

The beginning, middle and end made me cry.

Some were tears of laughter at the thought that this movie was a good idea, others were tears of sadness knowing that those two hours of my life would be gone and I could never get them back.

You could say mentally challenged. If you call them a retard that's rude. But anyway I almost cried/did cry on all the parts that were supposed to be sad.

reply

At the dance when Carla looks at her grade and she finds that she passed and she is so happy.

Yet Danny looks at his and finds that he did not pass... so very sad :O(

But Carla picked him back up :O)

reply

Yeah that part made me cry like a baby! Hahah.

Where else/ The ?"Stop Laughing at Me" scene.Oh, yeah, I second that one said that Juliette Lewis is a great actress, but I prefer "The Switch", with jennifer Aniston, Juliett'es role in that.
