McMann and Tate!!!!

I can't be the first person to have noticed this, but I just saw the movie again yesterday and it took a full 24 hours for me, in the middle of doing something quite different, to "get the joke." I was in public and I practically slapped my forehead when I realized, but I couldn't in front of everyone there. And since I don't know anyone else who's ever seen this movie, I had no one to tell but this board:

Carla TATE + Danny MCMANN = McMann and Tate = the name of the ad agency Darrin Stephens works for in Bewitched!

Do we think it was Garry Marshall, well-versed in TV before he made movies, who came up with this, or someone else?
