how is this movie a spin off from laverne and shirley like this website says?

I don't know why they would say this is a spin off, as it has absolutely nothing in common with L&S except for Gary Marshall. Probably just a fluke entry put in there before the movie was released.

shareYes, the actress Tracy Reiner (I believe she used Rob Reiner's name when he was married to Penny Marshall) is Penny Marshall's daughter. The movie also reminds me of an episode of Laverne & Shirley involving their landlady's daughter, who was similar to Carla. Lenny and she were attracted to each other and when the landlady sees Lenny kiss her, she jumps to a lot of conclusions and blames the girls but in the end accepts the relationship. They never explored the storyline in that episode any further, though.
