I don't live in the U.K. so I don't know about the possible different cuts. As for your other question, the Commandos hate the Gorgonites and want to destroy them simply because they're programmed as such. For no particular reason really, other than that's how they're programmed. Gil Mars, the head of GloboTech, in a lot of ways is more of a villain than they are since he made them enemies in the first place and because of the rushed street date to get the toys in store important things like safety testing was foregone, thus resulting in the X-1000 chip being implanted.
