Different versions of Granton Star Cause

I have the DVD of the Acid House. However whilst watching the 1st segment 'The Granton Star Cause' when it was broadcast by itself (ie without the other two parts) on Thursday night on Channel 4 I noticed that there were several additional scenes and snippets and that the soundtrack was different in places. There is also information in the credits of what happened to the characters in the future - e.g. it states that Kev lost his place in the football team and developed a drinking problem. Anyone know why there are differences or have any information on them.

maybe a case of cutting things out to get the trilogy to the required length, but if they showed the individual episodes, then the 'extras' would be restored to pad out what may be a 'short' single episode?

I think this was first shown on tv as a short film before being included in the Acid House feature film, and was altered slightly before inclusion. This would have been way back in 1997/8. Strangely there is no mention of it anywhere on the IMDB.
