$5 for the 1st person to correctly identify the bicycle in Rome song.

I have searched and searched and searched for the last couple of years and no one seems to know the song that is played near the end of the movie in the Rome bicycle scene.

The song starts softly in the background at 1:46:09 when the nuns start to admire the bicycle.

The song is increased in volume at 1:46:48 when David is shown in the piazza hearing the ringing bell on the bicycle. The song sounds wonderfully Italian but I hear or think I hear a couple Portugese words. Abrigado it sounds like at one point.

This song is so beautiful and captures the Rome meeting so perfectly. I was standing on the same spot not so long ago and that song would not go out of my head.

$5 to your paypal account if you can correctly name this song and the singer.

It's not on the soundtrack and no mention of it anywhere. Lot's of talk about other uncredited songs but no one ever mentions this one.

I tried writing to Bonnie's production company in LA but alas no answer back. :(

Hey Bonnie!, if you ever frequent this board please let me know what this song is.

Judging by the background sounds in those scenes, the song was something playing on perhaps a radio or some kind of player, and was not really a part of the soundtrack as such. I would say that in order to find out the name of the song you might have to find someone that speaks Italian and ask him/her to transcribe or translate what little is sung. With that, you may be able to find something through a search engine. Hope that gets you a little closer.

It sounds like Claire de lune to me but I'm not positive of that.

Did you find out the name of the song? It is not "Claire de lune" or "To Italy for a Kiss" as others have indicated. Please let me know if you have the song title. Thanks.

reply

No, never found out what the name is. No return mail or emails from Bonnie's production office in Brentwood either. I love the singer and the melody, would love to discover who sang it and the name of the song. It fit that scene perfectly.

reply

All I can say is, that it sounds like a "Eros Ramazzotti"-type of track.

RIP Ian....
