Review movie Return To Me (2000)
Posted February 18, 2008

With Regress To Me, actress Fair Hunt makes a directorial debut that is every bit as winning as any case shes ever played. Pass to Me is a wonderful romantic comedy that, despite its predictability, manages to succeed on simply about every level.

David Duchovny (X-Files) beautifully sheds his usual one-note role as an architect whose wife passes away. Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) is perfectly charming as a good-natured waitress world Health Organization becomes the new woman of Duchovnys affection. Gratuitous to say, there is an important aspect of the secret plan that Im leaving out, but to reveal it would take away from part of this films magic.

Although this celluloid touches on themes of fate (Watchful in Seattle, Youve Got Mail etc.) and many will, no doubt, find parts of the plastic film hard to swallow, Hunt club shows a gift for this material and displays an enormous amount of trust with her actors. The great ensemble includes Duchovny, Driver, David Ethan Allen Grier, Comely Hunt, James Belushi, Caroll OConnor and Robert Loggia.

Unlike the recent Retention the Faith, Return to Me is an honest-to-goodness fashioned wild-eyed comedy that really workings, and I challenge anyone to walk out of the theater without a big smile on their face.
