Just watched it for the 1st time ( it was shown tonight in the UK on BBC1 ) and within the first 5 mins of the film i was bored stiff, but i managed to watch it all. Boy, what a waste of 1 hour 50 mins, was it torture to watch or what ? What did i find wrong with it ? terrible lines ( of what has to be one of the worst scripts ever written ) one bad scene into another at the start of the film. To explain:- when the plot was being revealed, it was a horrible montague of awful scenes which were OTT, boring & just to put it into a nutshell when the film was trying to change gears it was just a mess of bad editing & uninteresting scences. Boy i'm boring myself with composing this post, to sum up:- not a great romantic comedy which i just laughed 5 times & just bearly mangaged a strifle a chuckle twice. This is one film that i'm encouraging you to avoid like the plague !

Great film !!!!!!!! Are you having a laugh ? Please ( i'm begging you ) tell me what is great about this pile of dogs dinner & if u think this film is great, gee i hate to think what other films you think are great !

The acting, the story, the wit, how they are typical Italians, everything about this movie is great. Hmmm what other movies I like... Titanic, The Phantom Of The Opera, If Only, 50 first dates, The Wedding Date, Notting Hill, Love Actually, Theres Something About Mary, Bridget Jones Diary, Serendipity, Kate and Leopold, Romeo and Juliet and a few other Romance movies. The movies I like are very good and got great reviews from critics. Im guessing your favourite movies are: Jackass...

No, i havn't see Jackass & i don't want to ( actually saw a bit of it then fell asleep watching the silly trash one night with a ***hole who i used to live with !) not in my favourites no way. BTW i'm not a silly nerdy typical teen who is into rubbish like this, but if you wanna know i'm a 36 year old man living in the UK. I see you love rom coms, that's cool with me. I'm guessing you are a mid twenty something attractive woman ? Let me know, take care & keep on rocking in the free world ! BTW my fav films are mentioned on my profile.

Get over yourself. Every single freaking message board has a post like yours and it's getting old. I'll bet everything that I own that this is not one of the worst films you've ever seen, because there are some truly awful movies in this world and "Return to Me" has never graced the imdb's bottom 100 list.

It's just a nice romantic comedy. You don't like it, fine. Just take it off of your "to rent" list and move on, don't come griping to us about it.

it's not from a x-files episode, it's from the film when mulder is in the bar getting drunk after finding out that the FBI are shutting down the x-files and they plan to transfer both Mulder & Scully

In my opinion, this is hardly a bad movie, much less one of the worst films ever. I must disagree, but not one scene in this film was OTT. This was one of the most realistic movies ever. The story was compelling, the chemistry between all of the characters was outstanding, and the story was well told. Terrible lines? Not a one. Bad editing? I don't see that. I just see a great movie with a realistic story and realistic characters that are lacking in most movies put out today. Not to mention this movie is so good, it didn't seem like it lasted almost two hours.

This is unwatchable garbage. My favourite movies are ones where nothing much happens; Baghdad Cafe, Smoke Signals, Station Agent, The Myth of the Male Orgasm, Le Placard etc, but in them nothing happens in a really interesting way. In this sorry mess nothing happens in a really sickening way. I had to stop watching after 45 mins. This isn't an entertainment it's a commercial for the Catholic Church.

At last !!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone agrees with me ! Thank you and thank you and a non stop thank yous ! Yeah i laughed at your point about being a commercial for the catholic church ! 45 minutes was all you took, hey I'm braver than you. I managed to watch it all, and i was depressed the night i watched it. However i might have a change of heart, as i must watch it in a more positive mood. As i could be so wrong about it !

What's really funny is I just said not to long ago to a friend that "Vanilla Sky" was hands-down the worst film I'm ever seen. So right there I don't value you opinion on this movie. Sorry, so 2 people are wrong. Even my VERY picky Husband liked this movie.

SCULLY: Mulder, toads just fell from the sky!

MULDER: I guess their parachutes didn't open.

I'll edit this when i have something to say, but at the moment I just can't be arsked ! It's a pity that my so called and only friend who happens to be a sexual active immature school girl ( exaggerated she's 24 ) is not into films, i would ask her opinion of Return to me !

By the by, which episode is the signature from and depending on your view of films Vanilla sky is a ok film not great film due to poor acting by both Cruise & Cruz but hey what a ending and great use of the nothing song by Sigour Ros !

Hey, It's to each their own I love flims like RTM. It was a throw back to a nicer time in MHO. I wish they made more films like that. It was a sweet feel good film.

Life is good in Philly Yes, that is short for Philadelphia. Nothing much to tell. I'm married and have two grown sons. Was a big fan of X-Files and an even bigger fan of David, but i'm sure you figured that out by now

Did you like the movie of the x-files ? I loved it, saw it twice at the flicks and loved the one-liners by Mulder & what a great soundtrack. By the By is there ever gonna be a sequel ? What do you do for living etc ? Take care luv Dave xxx

I loved the XF movie very much and did buy the soundtrack. I use to run a high end boutique and did some modeling for them, but quit because i felt burned out. I'm in no hurry to go back to be honestI'm enjoying being home and doing what i like. Going to work out, taking care of my garden, being on the net and going out with friends to breakfast The easy life thanks to a great husband.

By the by, i didn't dump my girlfriend after all, but however she may or may not have dumped me. I haven't seen her for 5 weeks, she says that's shes busy and she will see me soon ! MMMMM she's been saying that for weeks and this is what i don't understand she says she misses and loves me but doesn't wanna see me. Boy I'm confused !

I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster.... this movie was a waste of time...

It took forever to get into the plot... and just lingered on areas where there was no story to move forward.

There's more plot in watching ants digging an ant mound.

If this is such a horrible movie, then how are people like you a much thinner crowd on this board than those for most movies out there? Hate it all you want. You're entitled to your opinion, but in here, it doesn't seem to be a very popular opinion.

Tell me, vanillasky2001, do you have any idea what a total drip you are? You're one of those sad people who can't sort out their own emotions, and blow a gasket when you come across something that shows true emotions, and is enjoyed by the many who can relate to it. Go get some therapy, or go get some loving from your momma. What kind of loser hates the first five minutes of a movie so much and then watches the whole thing??? And what a rambling review you wrote, it made far less sense than what you claim the movie did. And it's spelled MONTAGE, not montague.

"Do you have any idea what a total drip you are?"- Err no I'm not a drip, I do not blow a gasket when I come across something that shows true emotions as I'm in touch with my own emotions. I'm currently getting therapy but its not helping as the therapist is currently training to be a therapist! My mother died this year. I'm not a loser and I watched the whole film to see if it would get better. I Apologize for the spelling, we all make grammar mistakes from time to time.

Add to the non-fans my mother, my sister, my brother-in-law, my best friend and her husband, and me.

I tried three times then finally got through the complete film; then, I wondered why I had bothered. I received the negative feedback from others at separate times when I brought up the title; all I asked was, "Have you seen 'Return to Me'?" That set off the negative reviews, most commonly that so many of the characters were irritating. I guess you can say that no one here is a Minnie Driver fans though I don't mind her in "POTO" and in a few of the "Will & Grace" episodes. If I had to be around most of those people, it would drive me crazy, mainly because I don't like being overwhelmed by people, each one seemingly trying to drown out the others. We're not bar people, so that might make a difference. No restaurant should be that loud and rowdy.

My mom and I tried to watch it again this evening, after several years of passing it by for other enertainment. About halfway through, my mom asked, "Are you getting anything out of this?" That's all I needed! I switched over to a documentary till "Letter from an Unknown Woman" starts on TCM. Both of us like David Duchovny, but he seems lost in the midst of all the commotion.

Age range: from 60s to 80s
